Well, I'll tell you something, this is no longer a vacation. It's a quest! It's a quest for fun!

It's Vacation Bible School this week at Providence Church. We're doing the Answers in Genesis' new curriculum and so far it's been pretty good, meaty and yet fun.

In particular, I've liked their 7 Cs of History Bible overview, attached to a memory verse.

Creation - Genesis 1:31
Corruption - Romans 5:12
Catastrophe - Genesis 7:23
Confusion - Genesis 11:9
Christ - John 3:16 (cf. 1 Corinthians 15:45-49)
Cross - Romans 6:23
Consummation - Revelation 21:4

UPDATE: Check out some photos from VBS.

Cf. So, what are the 7 Cs anyway?

We got to go to the Creation Museum with Drew's parents when in Indy last week. They did a great job presenting the seven c's - can get you kind of emotional or something! :) Anyway, I highly recommend going there if you are ever in the area, or planning a special trip to go - well worth it.

That's a great picture of you and your family, Gunny.

Thanks, NCGuy.

You know, it tends to be the impromptu random pictures just before we're out the door to do something that turn out the best.

We tend to over-think our poses/smiles, losing any relation to that which is natural.

Of course, the more photogenic in the bunch help diminish my inability to take a good picture.

Teresa, thanks for the tip. Who knew of such riches in Indy, White Castle AND the Creation Museum.

;-)

Ok - actually umm the creation museum is in KY right outside of Cincinnati. We just drove in from Indy (2 hour drive) and then drove back that afternoon. Could have stayed longer, but with two little ones and an exhausted 35 week along pregnant woman we did only what we could. :)

Vacation

My wife and daughters had a great time at Providence vacation bible school - well worth the effort and thanks so much to M.E.H. for heading it up. I can tell from your family picture that the Hartman's had a great VBS also - ya'll are going to need plastic surgery to remove the smiles from your faces.

P.S. Have you checked to make sure that Disney World isn't closed next week?

Well, now, they don't close Florida, but I'm sure if they close Disney World the mouse out front should have told us.

That was a good VBS, all around. It was a nice blend of biblical depth and breadth and user-friendliness.

I really think making t-shirts available was a great bit.

All in all, it was a lot of work and expense, but its worth it to get such intensive time to explain to the kids the glorious nature of our Creator.

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay.
My, oh my what a wonderful day!
Plenty of sunshine heading my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!
