No hugging, dear. I'm British. We only show affection to dogs and horses.
I have talked about hugging before, but never before have I seen a theology of hugging put to music. (Caveat: I will concede that the most powerful line is an argument from silence. Extra points if you find it.)

I'm sorry. I'm too white, too old, too entrenched in my dislike of rap to watch the video, funny or not.
Is this song genuinely attempting to preserve moral purity through a certain kind of hug, or is it mocking Christians for their concerns about hugging? Is it serious or a parody?
Gunny ... what movie is that quote from?! That's too funny.... I need to forward this to Steve who is British.... :ob

I'm sorry. I cannot understand how anyone with the Spirit of God dwelling in them can watch and listen to this without feeling horror in their heart. Do you stop to think about how offensive this is to members of your own congregation that you pastor??
NCguy
NCguy, Brothers don't shake hands. Brothers gotta hug.
Yo chill NC!
It was far more horrible in quality than offensive in form/content.
@Timothy ~ I take it your praise band won't add this to their repertoire any time soon then.
I don't know the context of the attempt, but I think it's young people trying to appeal to young people with a message about moral purity through a medium they think will be most effective.
@Jade ~ The quote comes from the movie "What a Girl Wants."
@NCguy ~ Best I can tell I'm still a Christian. Trust me, I've done far worse things than sharing this video that put the presence of God's indwelling Spirit in doubt.
