But we think you're crazy to make us write this essay telling you who we think we are.

A.W. Tozer's Rules for Self Discovery:
  1. What we want most
  2. What we think about most
  3. How we use our money
  4. What we do with our leisure time
  5. The company we enjoy
  6. Whom and what we admire
  7. What we laugh at

To make it an even 10, to those I would add the following:
  1. What makes us cry
  2. What we fear
  3. What we pray about

Hi interesting blog. However I think you need to change your by line a little. - ALWAYS REFORMING: A sinner saved by grace alone through faith alone because of Christ alone adhering to Scripture alone to bring about reform personally, for his family, church, and world to the glory of God alone. - Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Gunny,
I'm preaching on the last few chapters of Judges this Sunday, and would love to use these questions in the message to help our church discover our own spiritual corruption, such as was present in the time of the Judges. Would you be so kind as to tell in which of Tozer's book's I could find this list. Thanks.

Good stuff, that Judges.

It's from Tozer's That Incredible Christian. He actually gives a paragraph of explanation on each one as well.

Dumela,
I encourage you to take a look at the book recommendation here on this blog - 'Christ the Lord: The Reformation and Lordship Salvation'. It looks at how the theology embraced by Rev. Hartman fits harmoniously with the declaration in James 2:24. Blessings to you!
