Well, this is not a boat accident! And it wasn't any propeller; and it wasn't any coral reef; and it wasn't Jack the Ripper! It was a shark.

The family is very much enjoying Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, but I found this rather funny.

WARNING

Diving with great white sharks without the protection of a cage is extremely dangerous.

The scenes you are about to see were conducted by professional shark divers with years of experience.

DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!

Okay, who has great white sharks at home whereby they even could try this at home?!

Hilarious. Sometimes you wonder what goes through these peoples mind!

Elisa has already told me "NO!" and will not watch it. Heavy sigh...

I don't have any sharks at home. But perhaps they meant, but did not clearly express, that the audience, which, of course would be at home, not try this when they go out of their home and go to where the sharks are?

Good point. Had I not seen that warning, I'm certainly among the throngs who would have hopped a plane to South America and chartered a boat to head out to sea to jump in with the great white sharks.

;-)

It's just even funnier because it's not like the show made the experience look anything less than extremely dangerous.

I mean, I can see a show where a guy is cuddling with tigers, making them seem tame and fun, saying, "Hey, really, tigers are quite dangerous. Don't do this."

But all throughout the show you're worried the people are going to get eaten and you see them get scared themselves over and over. Who would come away from that program saying, "That looks easy. I want to swim with sharks too"?

I'm sure they're more worried about litigation than anything else.
